Coblens Eyewear – The perfect look
The Hugues met this week Ralf Schmidt and Nils Kaesemann, the founders of Coblens Eyewear, high quality and trendy frames producers from Koblenz and Berlin (Germany). This dynamic duo believes in the importance of the materials as well as the process, which means care and attention to the detail to make sure that Coblens frames are comfortable and fashionable at the same time.
H. Where does the inspiration for Coblens frames come from?
"We love yesterday for tomorrow". It means our titanium frames are inspired by the 60s and 70s but manufactured in the modern way and in Germany. This combination brings into all our frames high quality in vintage design.
H. What are the ingredients of your frames?
All our frames are made of titanium and the plating is in PVD technology. The acetate temples are made of acetate and perfect close to our titanium.
H. Always difficult to find the right frame. Isn’t it?
A Coblens frame must be put on the face of everybody... and for everybody’s face we have the perfect frame. We believe that the story and the people behind them give final touch to the frames as a whole that has never been apart.
H. How would you define the Coblens’ style?
Our frames are for everybody’s face. Hipster or "fifties", whatever your style, the most important point is that the people love design and see the Coblens frames like a jewel that complements their style.
H. What are your next projects?
We are always busy with new projects, but in this case The-Hugues will have to stay tuned and follow us on Facebook to discover more about our upcoming collections!
H. Coblens is based in Koblenz and Berlin. A secret corner you want to share with The Hugues?
Yes, Coblens combines the power of Berlin with the unique position of Koblenz as the heart of Germany. If you ask for the best place in Koblenz town, for us this would definitely be the "Deutsches Eck" (“German corner”), this is where the Moselle joins the Rhine in an almost breathtaking point of the city.
